The Secret's Out...

Hi everyone,

Thanks for stopping by and for all your wonderful comments. I'm honored to have you here and I truly appreciate each of you more than you know!

I had thought I'd have to keep this from you until tomorrow, but I'm beyond honored... and more than a little relieved... to tell you that I'm joining the MHKDesigns Design Team for 2018!

Why relieved?  Well... I've had to keep the news secret since early November!  It had, just about, sunk in but now I guess that will truly happen... and hopefully even more so tomorrow when I share my first DT creation.

I've been friends with MHKDesigns owner, Mynn, for years—indeed I'm honored that tomorrow sees the start of my sixth term on her House of Cards blog DT.  And always loved her designs, so it truly is an honor to be joining the very talented team...

Whatever you're doing to bring in the New Year tonight, have a great one!  I'll be back in the morning with the thankfully already scheduled posts, so I hope you'll join me then.  Although on this occasion I don't mind if you don't do so immediately!  Grin.

Merry Christmas!

Hi everyone,

Thanks for stopping by and for all your wonderful comments. I'm honored to have you here and I truly appreciate each of you more than you know!

This is my last post before Christmas, so I want to wish all of you the Merriest of Christmases, and to thank y'all for your love and support this year.  Each of you really do mean so much to me!

I assure you these cards are subtly different to the one I showed you a couple weeks ago...

Can you see how?  Yep, it's the weaving pattern, which makes that die another really versatile one.

And, having loved the design so much I created some silver versions.  Apologies for the poor image quality this time, trying to photograph in natural light is impossible at this time of year!

Card: Unbranded white, and gold and silver mirror
Tools and embellishments: Noble Ornate Pierced Squares, Intermediate Weaving and Three Wise Men (all Sue Wilson for Creative Expressions

Challenges for the silver card...
AG at TTCRD
#154 AG at Crafty Gals Corner
#204 Christmas at 613 Avenue Create

I'll be back on the first of the year with a couple of creations, so I hope you'll join me then

Penguin Pair

Hi everyone,

Thanks for stopping by and for all your wonderful comments. I'm honored to have you here and I truly appreciate each of you more than you know!

When I saw this Xcut die, I loved how cute it looked, but also how great it would be to make a dent in the scrap pile.  They were a bit fiddly to slot together, but after a couple attempts (these were my 3rd and 4th), it got a lot easier.  And yes, since the photo was taken I have given them rhinestone eyes, so they can see!

Card: Black, White and Smokey Slate scraps
Tools and embellishments: Large 3d Penguin die from Xcut

The die isn't actually that large, as the birds stand just over 4" tall, and belly to wing tip (uncreased) they are just over 3 1/4".  Regardless, they are SO cute!

Challenges...
#311-312 AG at Pixie's Snippets Playground
#49 AAG at Polkadoodles
#273 Anything but a card at Brown Sugar

I'll be back soon with another creation, so I hope you'll join me then.

End of Term Blog Hop at House of Cards

Hi everyone,

Thanks for stopping by and for all your wonderful comments. I'm honored to have you here and I truly appreciate each of you more than you know!

It's the 1st of December (yikes!) so that means it's time for the end of term blog hop at House of Cards, and here's the inspiration image...

Here's my first card using the wonderful Heck the Halls digi stamp set from sponsor MHKDesigns

I colored the image with Spectrum Noir markers, and added the bling and burlap from the inspiration image.

Challenges...
AG at TTCRD
AG at Pixie's Snippets Playground (burlap)
AG at Polkadoodles

And my second card using Christmas Tree (1) from sponsor Digistamps4Joy

I subbed the wood paneling from the image for brick, and inadvertently rotated it, imitated the colors, then added a burlap thread before adding the image.

Our other sponsors are... Imagine That Digistamp and Beccy's Place

Now, please do hop along with us

Vertical Butterflies

Hi everyone,

Thanks for stopping by and for all your wonderful comments. I'm honored to have you here and I truly appreciate each of you more than you know!

Today's card was inspired by one of the recent challenges at Mrs A.'s Butterfly Challenge, where the theme was "vertical," and indeed I created the card during the challenge, but am waaay too late to enter it.  OOPS!  But the center backing panel and all those butterflies were a great way to make a tiny dent in my scrap drawer!

Here's a close up of the dimension...

Card: SU's watercolor (I'd intended for the natural lines in the card to add another vertical element, but cut the panel the wrong way!), Rich Razzleberry and Soft Sky
Tools and embellishments: Sue Wilson's Finishing Touches Cascading Butterflies, and CE pearls

Challenges...
#307-308 AG at Pixie's Snippets Playground
AG at TTCRD
#326 Super Scraps Saturday at HIMCR

I'll be back soon with another creation, so I hope you'll join me then.

The real almost-winter waters might be getting a little choppy, but there's nothing rough about those in today's creation...

Your eyes aren't deceiving you, I have extended my favorite noble ornate square die for the base layer, and created faux nesties for the smaller layers.

Butterfly Twisted Easel

Hi everyone,

Thanks for stopping by and for all your wonderful comments. I'm honored to have you here and I truly appreciate each of you more than you know!

For today's card I've used a number of butterfly die cuts that were cut months ago, before my mojo disappeared and I've teamed them with a newer favorite.

And here it is open, where you can see I added the topper directly to the easel without backing it...

The noble square die makes it relatively easy to create the twisted base, and I've used the central square for the stopper.

Card: SU's thick whisper white and smoky slate
Tools and embellishments: Creative Expressions Butterfly Circle dies, Sue Wilson's Noble Ornate Pierced Squares (the stopper is the central die), and rhinestones from my stash

Challenges...
#86 A is for Any Shape at Mrs. A.'s Butterfly Challenge (another I've not joined for way too long
#187 AG at Artistic Inspirations
#138 AG at Creative Fingers

I'll be back soon with another creation, so I hope you'll join me then.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for stopping by and for all your wonderful comments. I'm honored to have you here and I truly appreciate each of you more than you know!

I know, ya get nothing from me for a month and now 2 cards in 2 days... eek!  But I couldn't miss my dear friend Darnell's latest NBUS challenge and I'm sneaking in on day 9 of 10... eek eek!  And yep, that sounds like Darnell's sweet Hammy's distress call at my ineptitude.  Grin.

Card: SU's thick whisper white, cherry cobbler and cucumber crush
Ink: SU's crumb cake
Stamp sets: Die'sire Sentimentals Memories are Made (NBUS)
Tools and embellishments: Sue Wilson's finishing touches Sweet William (NBUS) and CE pearls

#302-303 AG at Word Art Wednesday - I've not entered their challenges in what seems like forever, so please stop by and give them some love

I promise I'll be back next week with another creation, so I hope you'll join me then.

CAS Halloween and/or Colors at House of Cards

Hi everyone,

Thanks for stopping by and for all your wonderful comments. I'm honored to have you here and I truly appreciate each of you more than you know!

Before we get to my latest DT card for House of Cards, I must apologize for going AWOL for a month.  Although I only post once a week I try and schedule posts quite a way in advance, but thanks to my mojo disappearing a few months ago, they ran out, and I've not been able to create anything blog worthy.  It's also been why my visits to your blogs have slipped.

That said, I've created a few cards this weekend, so I'm hoping to get back into the swing of things and return to regular scheduling soon, but your patience is appreciated until I'm fully back up to speed.

This month at HoC we're asking you to create a CAS (clean and simple) Halloween card, and or colors from the inspiration image...

I went with the colors, and yep, it's the 3rd straight month I've used the die to create my card.  Sorry, not sorry! ;)

Card: SU's Pumpkin Pie and Early Espresso (I'm out of black)
Tools and embellishments: Sue Wilson's Noble ornate pierced squares, and rhinestones my DT teamie Shauna sent me a long time ago - eek - some are black backed

Challenges...
#301 - 302 AG at Pixie's Snippets Playground (admittedly I've used rather large snippets)
#39 AAG at Polkadoodles
#142 AG at Crafty Gals Corner

I'll be back soon with another creation, so I hope you'll join me then.
