Creative Blog Hop ~ Moon Lake Work Of Art

Today I'm taking part in the Creative Blog Hop, having been nominated to do so by another SU Demonstrator, Wendy.

I've used the gorgeous Moon Lake stamp set from Stampin' Up to create my card and teamed it with another favorite set, Work Of Art for a quick and easy CAS card...

Card; Whisper White and Lost Lagoon
Ink: Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Pool Party and Soft Sky
Stamp sets: Moon Lake and Work Of Art

Stamp the sweep from Work of Art in Crumb Cake, Pool Party and Soft Sky, stamping off beforehand.
Stamp the tree and boat image and the sentiment in Early Espresso over the background.
Cut a piece of Lost Lagoon card ¼" bigger than the Whisper White panel and layer together. Pop up onto the folded Whisper White base with Stampin' Dimensionals

Now for the Creative Blog Hop Q & A...
1. What are you working on now?
With Easter fast approaching, cards and gifts for that w ill be my main focus this week, once I've completed the cards that will feature on the blog. I'm also planning ahead for what will feature, both on the blog and in classes.

2. How does your work differ from others in your genre?
It's tough to say how my work differs, but since the start of this year I've featured a different stamp set each week on my blog, to showcase the range of different designs that are possible. 

3. Why do your create what you do?
I'm fortunate that I've been able to turn what was a favorite hobby into my full time work, thanks to Stampin' Up! Since I started creating cards years ago I've really enjoyed the creative process. I don't see it as work, my main motivation is seeing the reaction of the recipient of a card I've created, or seeing the enjoyment and often look of wonder on the faces of those I teach. That is what truly makes this less of a job and more of a calling.

4. How does your creative process work?

Almost all the time it's an immediate impulse. Whether it's talking through the requirements for a commission with a client, or when I first see a new stamp set or item, ideas on how to create something form immediately in my mind. With Stampin' Up, the range of designs possible with each set is almost infinite and I love playing with them to see what I can create.

Triple Easel Card Pictorial With Painted Petals

A couple weeks ago I shared a Double Twisted Easel Pictorial with you and pretty much the moment I did so, I thought about taking it up another level to a triple! It's a very special card and this was created for a very special lady for Mother's Day in the UK. Despite sounding difficult, it's really easy and doesn't take long at all to create. I completed this one in less than an hour.

By it's nature, this is a long and image heavy post, but I assure you it will be worth your time, so please do stay until the end.

Here's a look at the completed card, sat in it's box...

Here's what you'll need to create the project...
Card: 2 pieces Whisper White and 3 Strawberry Slush, cut to sizes described below
Ink: Strawberry Slush, Crisp Cantaloupe and Pistachio Pudding
Stamp set: Painted Petals
Tools and embellishments: Stampin' Trimmer, Simply Scored and Diagonal Plate, Basic Pearls, Stampin' Dimensionals, Tombow glue and Sticky Strip

For the card base, cut one of the pieces of Strawberry Slush to 6" x 9" inches

Score on the short side at 3"

Using the Stampin' Trimmer, or craft knife and ruler, cut down to the score line at 3" and 6"

Using the Simply Scored and Diagonal Plate, or stylus and ruler, score the two outer squares from the score line to the corners and the center panel at 1½" inches and fold the score lines

For the toppers, cut three 3" squares of Strawberry Slush card and three 2 7/8" squares of Whisper White

Stamp the Whisper White as desired using the inks and Painted Petals stamp set. Adhere the stamped squares to the Strawberry Slush. Stamp a few extra flowers and fussy cut for the easel stoppers. Stamp the inside of the card if desired. To add the panels to the base, apply Tombow to the outer triangles and rectangle

BE CAREFUL when positioning the toppers. Apply the center one straight and the outer two rotated 90° as shown

Add Basics Pearls to complete the toppers. Fold the card and open the easels. Use Stampin' Dimensionals to add the flower easel stoppers as shown in the first pic. Close the easels and put to one side (pic below taken in the box)

For the box, cut a piece of Strawberry Slush to 4 3/4" x 9 3/4" and Whisper White to 4 13/16" x 9 13/16"

Score both pieces at 3/4" on all sides

Fold the score lines and stamp the top as desired. To stamp on the lid as I have, keep the card folded while stamping

Cut and notch in the corners and adhere with Sticky Strip to create the box. Pop the completed card in the box and close the lid

Thank You With Blended Bloom

Today's card is another I've created with the beautiful Blended Bloom stamp from Stampin' Up! It is another CAS card and is relatively quick to put together, even with the fussy cutting...

Card: Whisper White and Coastal Cabana
Ink: Early Espresso and Coastal Cabana
Markers: Coastal Cabana Stampin' Write (from 2013-2015 In Color pack)
Stamp sets: Blended Bloom and Painted Petals (sentiment)
Tools: Paper Snips and Stampin' Dimensionals

Cut a piece of Coastal Cabana card 1/8" smaller than your Whisper White card base and attach.
Cut a Whisper White panel ¼" smaller than your card base. Stamp bloom in Early Espresso ink onto opposite corners of the white panel and also onto another piece of Coastal Cabana. Color some of the stamped images with the Coastal Cabana Stampin' Write marker.
Stamp the sentiment from Painted Petals in Coastal Cabana ink onto the bottom corner of the stamped panel and attach to the card.
Fussy cut the Coastal Cabana bloom using your paper snips and pop up onto the card using Stampin' Dimensionals

Emboss Resist With Blended Bloom

Can you believe it's Thursday already and that this is the fourth day of Blended Bloom week here? If you've missed this weeks other creations, you can see them here, here and here.

For today's offering I've used a favorite technique, emboss resist, with the beautiful stamp from Stampin' Up! and some of the gorgeous Irresistibly Yours DSP that's available FREE until the end of the month when you spend £45 or more during Sale-A-Bration...

Card: Whisper White and Irresistibly Yours DSP
Ink: Versamark, Pear Pizzazz and Blushing Bride
Stamp sets: Blended Bloom and Painted Petals (sentiment)
Tools: White Stampin' Emboss Powder and heat tool, Stamping Sponges,

Cut a piece of Irresistibly Yours DSP that's slightly smaller than your Whisper White base card and cut on the diagonal. Sponge Pear Pizzazz ink over the DSP and wipe off any excess ink with a tissue. Attach to base card
Stamp the bloom in Versamark onto Whisper White card, cover with embossing powder and heat. Sponge Blushing Bride ink over the image and fussy cut with your Paper Snips.
Stamp the sentiment from Painted Petals in Blushing Bride ink onto the top corner of your base card.
Attach the flower to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals

Blended Bloom Background

This is the third day of Blended Bloom week here and I'm loving sharing so many different ideas with you, which I've created using the versatile stamp set from Stampin' Up! If you've missed Monday's or Tuesday's, click on the days and they will open in another tab.

I love the stamp and at over 3", it is great for covering large areas quickly, perhaps even creating your own gift wrap. Now THERE's an idea! While that isn't the one I'm bringing you today, I have used it to create the background for a sentiment from the Trust God stamp set...

Card: Whisper White (base, panel plus a snippet) and a snippet of Coastal Cabana

Ink: Pool Party

Stamp sets: Blended Bloom and Trust God

Tools: Decorative Label punch and Stampin' Dimensionals

Using Pool Party ink stamp the Blended Bloom image randomly over your Whisper White panel.

Using the same ink stamp the sentiment from Trust God onto a snippet of Whisper White. Punch out using the Decorative Label punch and layer onto one from Coastal Cabana that's been cut in half.

Attach the panel and sentiment to the card base using Stampin' Dimensionals

That's it. SO quick and SO easy. This card took me just minutes to put together.

Embossed Vellum Blended Bloom

As I write this post, the sun is finally shining and I've got the window open. It's not that warm and there's still not many signs of spring around, but it's a start!

Following on from yesterday's watercolor card using the beautiful Blended Bloom stamp set from Stampin' Up! today I've used the stamp on our Vellum and heat embossed it...

Look closely and you'll see there IS a sentiment on the smaller die cut. It's one of my favorites from the Painted Petals stamp set, "friends become our chosen family". I photographed the card a few times and this was the best I could get.

Card: Whisper White (base and panel), Very Vanilla and Vellum
Ink: Versamark
Stamp sets: Blended Bloom and Painted Petals
Tools and embellishments: White Stampin' Emboss Powder and heat tool, Decorative Dots EF, Labels Collection framelits dies, Basics Pearls, Stampin' Dimensionals and Mini Glue Dots

Stamp the Blended Bloom in Versamark ink onto Vellum, cover with White embossing powder and heat. When cool fussy cut
Stamp the sentiment from Painted Petals onto Very Vanilla, cover with embossing powder and heat. Once cool cut with the smallest Labels Collection framelit die.
Cut the third die from the set and emboss with the Decorative Dots EF.
Attach the Whisper White panel and the two die cuts to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.
Attach the bloom to the card with a single Mini Glue dot in the center and cover with Basics Pearls. Add a few more pearls to the corners to complete the design

Watercolor Blended Bloom

I hope those of you in the US and Canada are enjoying the extra daylight now the clocks have gone forward and spring seems to be on the horizon, if it's not already arrived where you are. It was warm and sunny here Saturday, but freezing again yesterday. Still not many signs of spring, although there are daisies in the lawn outside my window.

To hurry spring along a bit, I'm bringing you another flower filled week and without a Blendabilities marker in sight! I love the blended Bloom stamp from Stampin' Up! and at over 3" square, it is perfect for using with your Blendies, but there are LOTS of other ways to use it and I hope to inspire you. Today's offering is a watercolor...

Card: Whisper White (panel and folded card base), Watercolor paper and Strawberry Slush
Ink: Jet Black StazOn, Blushing Bride and Melon Mambo
Stamp sets: Blended Bloom, Gorgeous Grunge and Trust God
Tools: Aqua Painters

Stamp the Blended Bloom in Jet Black StazOn ink onto Watercolor paper. While it's drying Stamp the spatter image from Gorgeous Grunge in Blushing Bride ink onto the Whisper White panel.
Transfer some Blushing Bride and Melon Mambo ink into the lids by squeezing (or use reinker in the same way).
Using an Aqua Painter color the flower with the transferred ink and allow to dry.
Stamp the sentiment from Trust God in Melon Mambo ink onto the Gorgeous Grunge Panel and attach panel to base card.
Trim the Watercolor paper panel to desired size and stamp around the image with the  Gorgeous Grunge spatters, again using Blushing Bride ink.
Cut the Strawberry Slush card to create a mat for the image (I cut mine ¼" bigger), layer together and attach to the card
