Thanks for stopping by and for all your wonderful comments. I'm honored to have you here and I truly appreciate each of you more than you know!
Regular readers might recall that I love butterflies and I LOVE the Butterfly Basics stamp and die set from Stampin' Up! The card I'm sharing with you today was created for a very special friend, Jill, who celebrated her birthday last week. The inspiration for the card came from the gift I sent with it, this beautiful butterfly covered scarf...
The sheer fabric is an off-white color, so I used Very Vanilla card to mimic it and Basic Black for the base and butterfly. I know Jill loves the emboss resist technique almost as much as I do and to mimic the sheer fabric I embossed the ferns from the stamp set in Clear Stampin' Emboss Powder. I know Jill also LOVES pink and while the pink on the scarf is closer to SU's Melon Mambo than Blushing Bride, I went with the latter for a more subtle look, stamping the sentiment and additional butterflies in the same ink...
The inside of the easel card was created with the same embossed detail as the front and the butterflies were added as the stopper. The finishing touch sentiment is a favorite of mine from Trust God and was stamped in Black StazOn...
Such a special card needs a matching envelope and I used the Envelope Punch Board to create it, before embossing the ferns and lightly sponging...
Jill posted the card to her blog, Ribbon Challenged, on her birthday and I have to say her photos are much better than mine! Please do stop on over.
