My First Parchment Gem

Hi everyone,

Thanks for stopping by and for all your wonderful comments. I'm honored to have you here and I truly appreciate each of you more than you know!

The card I'm sharing with you today is my first attempt at coloring a gem on parchment.  Inspired by the incredible Tina Cox... click HERE for a pictorial on how to color them (they can be done on paper too!)... it's surrounded by a couple of her Groovi plates...

Although I'm happy with the gem, I'd likely have been better starting with colors closer on the spectrum than yellow, pink, and blue, as well as the white highlights.  But I'll instead do so on future versions!  Grin

Card: Unbranded white, Clarity clear parchment and Antarctica Designer Paper
Groovi Plates: Scallop Nested Squares (outer frame), Tina's Daisy Flowers parchlet (all other embossing including gem frame), and Tina's Straight Border Pattern #1
Tools and embellishments: Groovi and Pergamano embossing, perforating, and cutting tools, Perga color pens, blending oil and pen, and rhinestones from my stash

#28 Delightfully Daffodil at Rainbow Card Challenge

Hi everyone,

Thanks for stopping by and for all your wonderful comments. I'm honored to have you here and I truly appreciate each of you more than you know!

It's the first of the month, so it means it's time for a new challenge at Rainbow Card Challenge.  Our theme this month is Delightfully Daffodil, and please, if you must, use only a hint of a preferably neutral color.  After all, we are a monochromatic challenge!

And here's my card...

Linda Williams originally designed the pattern I've used as a traditional parchment pattern years ago, and it was then, alongside 3 other girl seasonal designs and 4 boys, released in Groovi form last year.

I love all her artwork, and I'm sure you'll agree that the design is perfect in two ways... April usually brings showers, and daffodil is the perfect color for it.

Card: Unbranded white, Clarity DP and clear parchment
Groovi plates: Linda's Children - Spring - Dance in the Puddles
Tools and embellishments: Groovi and Pergamano embossing, perforating, and cutting tools, Perga color pens, and rhinestones from my stash
