Pinky Purple Twofer

Although I spent much of the festive period prepping for new bi-monthly live Groovi demos on Facebook... more on that later... I still have a lot of cards I created last year that I'm yet to show you, so I better start today!

These two were some of the earliest I created with the Queen Mary duet grid, and I'm sure by now the other elements are familiar to regular readers?

Now, more about those FB lives... although I don't do YouTube videos (and never will!), a number of friends expressed an interest in how my cards were created... so, last September I started demoing one per month in my Creative Crew group.  Then, after posting my December 'live' creation in Clarity's Groovi Worldwide group, I responded impulsively to someone's post saying she wished there was some way to craft together virtually!  And me being me, instead of changing my 'usual' demo into a craft along... I'm now doing two... the 1st Saturday of the month is the regular one were I'll skip ahead a bit... and 3rd Saturday of the month will be the slower paced craft along!

So, regardless of whether you're a parcher, or just interested in the process, please send me a message HERE (or through FB Messenger if we're already connected) and I'll add you to the group!

Framed Roses

Way back in September, I promised you I'd show you another design demonstrating the versatility of Linda's Roses & Lace plate.  I don't break promises, so here it is...

Can you see what's different, apart from the frame?  If you're thinking one of the roses is missing from the top left, you'd be right!  I omitted it so the design fitted the space.  Once the roses were in place, I added the frame behind, in much the same way as you'd mask of a stamped design before adding background detail.  Then, finally added the sentiment

Another Bird in Flight

The card I'm sharing with you today comprises something old (the bird plate), something new (the Princess Charlotte Lace Corner), and something blue, or more specifically 2 somethings blue (parchment and rhinestones).  If I'd borrowed something, it might have been more appropriate for a wedding, but nope, it was for a dear friend's birthday last month...

Hummer in Flight

For those of us in the northern hemisphere, the days are rapidly drawing in, and summer is a dim and distant memory.  So, I thought I'd brighten your day with this beautiful hummer...

The plate was designed by the late, much missed, Jayne Nestorenko, and is the first of her designs I've bought.  I've also just realized that the other plates used complete the trio of Clarity designers...

Peach Roses and Lace

Does the title of this post sound familiar?  If you think you read it in my post a couple weeks ago, you'd be right!  With the exception of the small roses within the ribbon lace, which I've instead replaced with rhinestones, this card shows the entire plate...

Of course, I could have easily added a sentiment in the space, but to be honest, I didn't even think about that!  Ooops!

Beautiful Brown at Rainbow Card Challenge

It's the first of the month, so that means it's time for a new challenge at Rainbow Card Challenge.  Our theme this month is Beautiful Brown although your card does NOT have to be beautiful, if you don't want to... though I'm sure it will be!  What we do ask is that it is MONOCHROMATIC BROWN, but we don't mind a hint of another color if necessary.

Aren't those owls cute?  As soon as I saw them, I thought they were perfect for an anniversary card, so I created this one for a couple of dear friends whose anniversary was yesterday.  It was also the first I did with such intricate picot cutting.

Much like last month, I assure you that this and the other cards I'll share throughout August were not created with this month's Rainbow Card Challenge in mind... it really is just a happy coincidence.

I've used exactly the same plates I did for last week's card to show you just how versatile Groovi plates are.  By only using certain elements, you're effectively doing the same as if you're masking stamps... though with much less mess!  Grin

Majestic Elephant

The card I'm sharing today is actually one of my latest Groovi makes which jumped to the front of the queue after I saw the latest challenge at Incy Wincy is Animals.  So, while there are MANY others waiting to be blogged (the recent break was due to lack of anything scheduled during a much needed vacation), this one had to head to the front, because, let's face it, I create and schedule so many cards in advance these days that it's hard to find challenges which fit the design!

The majestic beast itself was January's New Design Groovi Club plate, and I think my latest obsession of piercing within the frame really helps him stand out.  Do you agree?
