Emboss Resist With Painted Petals

I'm loving sharing Painted Petals week with you here. If you missed or would like to revisit the cards created so far, here they are: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. For today's card I've used one of my favorite techniques, emboss resist...

Card: Whisper White (folded base, panel and snippet for sentiment
Ink: Versamark, Blushing Bride and Strawberry Slush
Stamp sets: Painted Petals and Lotus Blossom (available FREE during Sale-A-Bration)
Tools and stuff: White Embossing Powder, heat gun, Bracket Label Punch and Stamping Sponges

Stamp the stems a number of times onto the panel in Versamark. Cover with White EP and heat.
Stamp the sentiment from Lotus Blossom in Strawberry Slush onto Whisper White and punch out. Sponge Blushing Bride ink around the edges.
Sponge Blushing Bride ink over the embossed panel. Stamp the flower heads in Strawberry Slush as desired (I didn't reink the stamp for some). Attach panel to folded base card.
Pop the sentiment up on the card using Stampin' Dimensionals

Word Art Wednesday With Painted Petals

For today's card, the third of Painted Petals week (catch up with Monday and Tuesday), I've added in one of the wonderful sentiments from the Indescribable Gift stamp set from Stampin' Up!

Card: Whisper White (folded base and panel)
Ink: Backberry Bliss and Mossy Meadow
Stamp sets: Painted Petals and Indescribable Gift

Stamp the sentiment from Indescribable Gift in Blackberry Bliss in the top right corner of the panel.
Stamp the stems in Mossy Meadow on one side of the bottom and again in the middle without reinking the stamp. Repeat to frame the sentiment. Add the flower heads in the same way with Blackberry Bliss.
Attach the panel to the base

All the P's With Painted Petals

The card I'm sharing with you today is the second of this week's Painted Petals creations. If you missed yesterday's you can see it here. I love the way that Stampin' Up name their colors and today's card uses three that begin with P that are some of my favorites...

Card: Whisper White and Pistachio Pudding
Ink: Pool Party and Pear Pizzazz
Stamp set: Painted Petals

Stamp the leaves in Pear Pizzazz onto a piece of Whisper White, then carefully add Pool Party flowers. Trim panel (mine is 2 1/4" x 3 1/4").
Cut Pistachio Pudding panel slightly bigger than the stamped panel (mine is 2 1/2" x 3 1/2") and attach.
Cut a Whisper White panel slightly smaller than your folded base card (mine is 1/4" smaller) and stamp down one side with the double flower image in Pool Party. Stamp the sentiment in Pear Pizzazz on the bottom right corner.
Adhere the panel to the base and attach the second panel.

Painted Petals for CYCI

The card I'm sharing with you today is the first of Painted Petals week and it was inspired by this week's challenge over at Can You Case It? Where they're having a sketch challenge...

Card: Whisper White (folded base and extra for panels), Pistachio Pudding and Strawberry Slush
Ink: Pistachio Pudding and Strawberry Slush
Stamp set: Painted Petals

Cut Pistachio Pudding card to create panel (mine is 1/4" smaller than the base) and attach to base.
Stamp the flower stems in Pistachio Pudding onto Whisper White and follow with the flowers in Strawberry Slush. Trim panel if necessary (mine measures 2 1/4" x 3 1/4").
Stamp sentiment in Strawberry Slush and trim panel (mine measures 2 1/4" x 1 1/4").
Cut Strawberry Slush panels (mine are 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" and 2 1/2" x 1 1/2") and attach stamped panels. Attach panels to base with Stampin' Dimensionals.

LOVE Butterflies

I'm beyond excited to have the honor of joining Mynn and the House of Cards team this month as a Guest Designer! Thank you SO much Mynn! Here's this month's cue card...

Regular readers will likely recall that I LOVE butterflies and the Butterfly thinlits dies from Stampin' Up! so it might not be much of a surprise that I've used the dies to create my GDT card...

Card: Strawberry Slush and Whisper White 10" x 5" folded into a square base, plus extra for the other elements
Ink: Versamark, Blushing Bride and Melon Mambo
Stamp set: Painted Petals (sentiment)
Dies: Butterfly thinlits
Tools and embellishments: Hearts Decorative Mask (from Hearts and Stars pack), White Stampin' Emboss Powder, Stamping Sponges, Basics Pearls and Decorative Label Punch

Carefully inkVersamark through the mask onto a full sheet of Whisper White, then add White powder and heat it, before sponging Blushing Bride ink all over. Cut 4 3/4" square piece for the mat and add to the base.

Cut the butterflies dies and layer them up with Glue Dots along the body and carefully place onto the base with another couple Glue Dots. Once in place add the Pearls along the body.

Stamp the sentiment onto an off cut of the sponged card and punch out with the Decorative Label punch. Punch a second from more Whisper White, snip in half and layer behind the first. Attach to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Lotus Blossom Thank You

Thanks for stopping by and for all your wonderful comments. I'm honored to have you here and I truly appreciate each of you more than you know!

Today's card is the last (BOO!) of Lotus Blossom week and it's another gorgeous card, if I do say so myself! Having used just one color for the other four creations, I've used 2 for today's card, Strawberry Slush and Blackberry Bliss, so you could say this card is berry-licious!

Card: Whisper White, folded base, panel and extra for stamping
Ink: Strawberry Slush, Blackberry Bliss and Crumb Cake
Markers: Strawberry Slush Stampin' Write (from 2013-2015 In Color pack) and Blackberry Bliss (from 2014-2016 In Color pack)
Stamp sets: Lotus Blossom, Hardwood and Painted Petals (sentiment).
Tools: Flower Medallion Punch (available separately or as part of the Petal Potpourri bundle) and Paper Snips

Stamp the step one Lotus Blossom stamp in Blackberry Bliss onto Whisper White. Complete the blossoms with Strawberry Slush ink, stamped off once. Fussy cut with Paper snips.
Stamp the Hardwood onto the panel in Crumb Cake. Punch with the Flower Medallion near an and and trim to even if need be. KEEP the punch out for another project! Attach panel to folded base card.
Ink the sentiment stamp with the Strawberry Slush marker, then color the "thank", top and bottom of the "you" with the Blackberry Bliss marker. Stamp in the aperture.
Attach the blossoms with Mini Glue Dots.

It's so hard for me to choose a favorite from the five very different cards I've created with a stamp set that's become a new favorite! Can you help me choose, please? Here's a reminder of the others (click on pix to be taken to the post for details)...

Emboss Resist Lotus Blossom

Welcome to day four of Lotus Blossom Week! If you've missed any of the other posts, or you'd like to take another look, here they are... Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Regular readers will know that I've recently discovered the gorgeous emboss resist technique and I'm trying to incorporate it into designs whenever I can. Perhaps I'll add an "Emboss Resist Week" into my to-do schedule for the blog? Please let me know if that's something you'd like to see and if so, which stamp set you'd like me to try it with?

For today's card I've used an emboss resist panel with the foliage from Butterfly Basics as the background for gorgeous Blackberry Bliss Lotus Blossoms...

Card: Whisper White, folded base, panel and extra for the Lotus Blossoms
Ink: Versamark, Pool Party, Blackberry Bliss and Pear Pizzazz
Stamp sets: Butterfly Basics, Lotus Blossom and Painted Petals (sentiment)
Tools: White Embossing Powder, Heat Gun, Stamping Sponges and Paper Snips

Stamp the foliage from Butterfly Basics in Versamark 3 times onto the Whisper White panel, varying the height. Cover with White Embossing Powder and heat. Leave to cool.
Stamp the 3 step Lotus Blossoms in Blackberry Bliss onto extra Whisper White, stamping off before layers 2 and 3. Fussy cut with the Paper Snips.
Sponge Pool Party ink over the embossed panel to cover.
Stamp the 2 step Lotus Blossom stems onto the panel in Pear Pizzazz, stamping off before the second and varying the height.
Stamp the sentiment from Painted Petals in Blackberry Bliss onto the panel and attach to the folded base card.
Attach the blossoms to the base with Mini Glue Dots.

Although this card isn't the quickest to create, the finished look is well worth the effort. I love the design! and hope you do too.
