Thank You With Beautiful Wings

Hi everyone,

Thanks for stopping by and for all your wonderful comments. I'm honored to have you here and truly appreciate each of you more than you know! I hope you had a great Christmas and received everything you wished for!

Today's card is perfect for sending after Christmas and it's also my Guest Designer contribution for challenge #21 over at Mrs. A.'s Butterfly Challenge, following my win in Challenge #18. Thanks again Mrs. A. for such an honor!

I've used a few of my favorite things to create the card, the Beautiful Wings Embosslit, Woodgrain embossing folder and Work Of Art stamp set, together with the Bracket Label punch from Stampin' Up!

I've also used a favorite technique for the design that I've not done for a while, white on white, or in this case Very Vanilla on Very Vanilla. The sentiment is embossed in gold and I love the look

Bright & Beautiful Gift Box

Hi everyone,

Thanks for stopping by and for all your wonderful comments. I'm honored to have you here and truly appreciate each of you more than you know!

I absolutely LOVE the Bright & Beautiful Keepsake Luminary that I shared with you last week and wanted to create an equally striking gift box to hold it. So, on Friday I set about designing a prototype, and abandoned my to-do for a few hours. I was really pleased with the basic prototype and the few friends I showed it to loved it too.

So this morning I created the "real thing" from a piece of Window Sheet cut to 12" x 4" and some Very Vanilla card, which I stamped with the smallest star from the Bright and Beautiful stamp set in Versamark and embossed it with Gold Stampin' Emboss powder...

Here's a look inside the box...

Here's the lid...

I absolutely LOVE the result! When the battery tea light in the luminary is lit, it truly is a Bright and Beautiful gift! I'd love to know what you think?

Petite Petals Keepsake Luminary

Hi everyone,

Thanks for stopping by and for all your wonderful comments. I'm honored to have you here and I truly appreciate each of you more than you know!

The project I'm sharing with you today is another Keepsake Luminary, created with the amazing Curvy Keepsake die from Stampin' Up! In my previous luminary post, which you can see here, I mentioned that the stamp set I'd used then (Bright and Beautiful) is being carried over to the new catalog that goes live in January, but I neglected to mention that the die is too!

This time around I've used a couple of my favorite stamp sets, Petite Petals and Trust God, together with a pop of color from Wisteria Wonder Blendabilities...

I think it looks great as it is, but lighting the battery tea light candle inside adds another dimension...

Going Crackers, Again!

Hi everyone,

Thanks for stopping by and for all your wonderful comments. I'm honored to have you here and I truly appreciate each of you more than you know!

I really enjoy creating anything with the versatile Envelope Punch Board from Stampin' Up!, and as the title of today's post says, I've gone crackers again for today's project! You can see my previous Going Crackers post here.

This time around, I stamped one of the stamps from Gorgeous Grunge in Versamark and embossed it with Silver Stampin' Emboss Powder on Cherry Cobbler card for the cracker bases. I then embossed the sentiment from Making Spirits Bright and punched with the Scallop Oval punch, layering it up with a Very Vanilla Decorative Label.

Bright & Beautiful Keepsake Luminary

Hi everyone,

Thanks for stopping by and for all your wonderful comments. I'm honored to have you here and I truly appreciate each of you more than you know!

Regular readers may know that the gorgeous Bright and Beautiful stamp set from Stampin' Up! is one of my favorites! I'm REALLY happy that it's being carried over into the new Occasions catalog that will be live in January, proving that it's not just for Christmas!

For today's project, I've teamed the smallest star in the set with a new personal favorite, the Curvy Keepsake die, to create luminaries for battery tea light candles...

After cutting the box pieces I stamped the star in Versamark before embossing it with White Stampin' Emboss Powder. I think it looks great unlit, but it looks even better lit up...

Curvy Keepsake Reindeer

Hi everyone,

Thanks for stopping by and for all your wonderful comments. I'm honored to have you here and truly do appreciate each of you more than you know!

The project I'm sharing with you today is so cute, even if I do say so myself! It combines three of my current and possibly all time favorite things, the Curvy Keepsake die and Owl and Bird Builder punches from Stampin' Up! I created 8, so my herd of reindeer is 16 strong!

I started the project by punching 16 owl bodies from Baked Brown Sugar card and trimmed feet from them. Then punched the eyes and noses from Whisper White and Cherry Cobbler card and used my Baked Brown Sugar Stampin' Write marker to add the detail. For the antlers I punched 32 branches from the Bird builder, half from the remaining Baked Brown Sugar and Half from Crumb Cake.

I then cut and assembled the boxes from Cherry Cobbler card and popped the critters up on a couple of Stampin' Dimensionals.

Christmas Suite #4 Tree Topper

Hi everyone,

Thanks for stopping by and for all your wonderful comments. I'm honored to have you here and truly do appreciate each of you more than you know!

The project I'm sharing with you today is another of my personal Christmas Suite of decorations for this year. If you missed any of the others, you can see them all here.

I finally got my mini Christmas tree up yesterday and once it was decorated I realized I'd not yet created the topper. Oops! However, that was quickly remedied using the gorgeous Bright and Beautiful stamp set and the coordinating Stars Framelits dies from Stampin' Up!

I stamped each of the three stars from the stamp set twice (the topper is double sided), in Versamark ink onto Very Vanilla and Pear Pizzazz card and embossed them in gold, then popped each layer up on Stampin' Dimensionals. To complete the topper I cut two of the largest stars from more Pear Pizzazz card and used a double layer of dimensionals to create the space for it to added to the tree.

It is now proudly in place atop the tree and I'll share a pic of that in another post.

Christmas suite #3 AIC Curvy Keepsake

Hi everyone,

Thanks for stopping by and for all your wonderful comments. I'm honored to have you here and I truly do appreciate each of you more than you know!

The Curvy Keepsake Thinlits die from the current Stampin' Up! seasonal catalog has been SO popular that it has also been included in the new seasonal catalog that is being launched the first week in January.

My Curvy Keepsake die finally arrived Wednesday morning! Of course, after waiting so long for it, I had to use it IMMEDIATELY. Within seconds of opening the box I'd grabbed my All Is Calm DSP and headed over to my Big Shot to cut three boxes...

The DSP is so pretty and I love them just the way they are, although I might add a tag once I've filled them with chocolate :)

Christmas Coffee

Hi everyone,

Thanks for stopping by and for all your wonderful comments. I'm honored to have you here and I truly appreciate each of you more than you know!

Can you believe that Christmas Day is now just two weeks away? I know, me either. Eek! Amid all the hustle and bustle of preparing for the holidays grabbing a coffee with friends or family takes on even more meaning for me.

The card I'm sharing today is perfect for those pre-Christmas drinks, or indeed any time of year. I've teamed one of my favorite stamp sets from Stampin' Up!, Perfect Blend, with the gorgeous All Is Calm DSP...

Together with a touch of Pistachio Pudding and Crumb Cake, the card reminds me of the peppermint beverages available at a well known coffee shop. It is perfect for the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop happening over at Tsuruta Designs where I'm linking up to and also the End of Term hop at House of Cards.

The flowers are popped up on dimensionals over the flowers in the flourish

Hi everyone,

Thanks for stopping by and for all your wonderful comments. It's an honor to have you here and I truly appreciate each of you more than you know.

The card I'm sharing with you today was commissioned by a client after she had seen this card...

She loved the look and asked me to create something similar for her to give to her husband for their ruby wedding anniversary. I changed out the soft Crisp Cantaloupe for Cherry Cobbler and added in a second bird created with the Bird Builder punch and a computer generated sentiment...

Sweet Like Chocolate

Hi everyone,

Thanks for stopping by and for your wonderful comments. It's an honor to have you here and I truly appreciate each of you more than you know!

For today's projects I've colored one of my favorite stamps, the Blended Bloom from Stampin' Up! with Melon Mambo and Skin Tone Blendabilities markers. They inspire visions of chocolate for me, hence the title of the post. See what I did there?

Both are gifts for Lynn who last week joined my Creative Crew. She had included the stamp and Blendies in her Starter Kit so I wanted to create something really special that she can use for inspiration.

For her card I popped the single bloom up on a panel of Crumb Cake card embossed with the Woodgrain Embossing folder. I created the the banner by stamping the greeting with the Skinny Mini Alphabet and popped that up too before adding a few Basics Pearls.

After creating a large gift box from more Crumb Cake card I cut a piece of Very Vanilla big enough to cover the front and all four sides of the box, then randomly stamped the Blended Bloom with Memento ink and colored with the blendies.

I then trimmed it to size and adhered the panels so that the finished box looks as if it's wrapped in the design, but then I forgot to take photos of the sides. Oops! I've kept each of the four corner squares and will use them for another project, so nothing goes to waste :)

I'm so honored that Lynn chose to join my team and would be equally honored if you would too. Now is a GREAT time to join Stampin' Up! because the launch of the new Seasonal Catalog is coming up, as well as Sale-A-Bration! I've had a sneak peek at the goodies and they are not to be missed! Christmas Suite #2 Going Crackers

Hi everyone,

Thanks for stopping by and for all your wonderful comments. I truly do appreciate you more than you know!

Following on from yesterday's Christmas Wreath I'm sharing another of my Christmas 2014 projects today and this time I'm going crackers with the gorgeous All Is Calm DSP from Stampin' Up!

I've once again used the dimensions my sweet friend Caroline gave in her post here to create them, but instead of using the medium measurements as I did for these Thanksgiving ones, I've created the smallest this time.

Here's a few step by step pix...

The first which you saw yesterday, shows the 10 papers I used, cut to size...

The second shows some of them from the back, once I'd scored and folded them...

Having originally thought I'd create 10, I decided to add in a couple more using Lost Lagoon card. Here's a few once they'd been punched...

Although there are only seven here, each design used is shown. I've not yet tied the ends with White Bakers Twine, because I'll be adding candy into them at some point...

I love the little cuties and I'll be using the punched out pieces to create more miniature decorations, which I'll share with you next week.

Christmas Suite #1 DSP Wreath

Hi everyone,

Thanks for stopping by and for all your wonderful comments. I truly do appreciate each of you more than you know!

The project I'm sharing with you today has been created using the gorgeous 12" x 12" All Is Calm Designer Series Paper (DSP) from Stampin' Up! Those of you who are regular readers might recall that DSP isn't really my thing, but that cannot be said of this set. I love it!!!

Here's a glimpse if you've not yet seen it, although my photo doesn't really do it justice!

I created the bow with the Gift Bow Bigz L Die from Lost Lagoon card and one of the papers last Monday and forgot to take a photo of it as it was, so the pic below is a sneaky peek of it in place on the wreath. I also cut each of the papers in half, then cut half of them into 6" x 1" inch strips and put the remainder safely to one side to be used in other decorations.

On Friday, during my Thanksgiving vacation, I curled the strips, but decided not to curl the white and silver because by now I had 120 curls and it looked to be enough.

I used straight pins to attach everything to a 12" diameter flat backed styrofoam form and started by putting the bows in place, then working from the inside out. It is so light that all I've used to attach it to the inside of my living room door are a half dozen Stampin' Dimensionals on the back...

I LOVE the result and those who have seen it before I've written this post are amazed that it's the first time I've ever attempted this type of wreath!

Sad sad news

Hi everyone,

Thanks for stopping by and for all your wonderful comments. I truly do appreciate each of you more than you know.

Over the weekend I heard the very sad news from my friend Paula that her friend Lynn had lost her battle against cancer at just 41 years old. Although I didn't know Lynn or her family personally, you might recall that I created a card for her back in September when we first learned of her diagnosis (you can see that card here) and my heart breaks for her husband Paul, two young sons and their family and friends.

The first card I'm sharing today is for them...

...and this one is for Paula and her family...

Both are mini screen cards, cut at 5" tall instead of my usual 6". I've embossed one of the Flowering Flourish stamps in gold and also embossed the sentiments which are from the Hostess set Bloom with Hope.

Please say a prayer for them all and hold your loved ones tight.

Rest in perfect peace Lynn.

Thanksgiving Suite #4 And A Message

Hi everyone,

Thanks for stopping by and for all your wonderful comments. It's an honor to have you here and I truly do appreciate each of you more than you know!

The card I'm sharing with you today is the penultimate project in my Thanksgiving Suite for this year and I wish that I was able to create one for each of you!

On this very special holiday, I'd like to share something very special with you. Many of you have followed my blog for quite some time, long before I joined Stampin' Up! in August, but here's a look into my creative journey and one of the things I'm so grateful for today...

I first started card making/ paper crafting almost nine years ago, although I've always been creative. At that time I helped my friend, who was also my bridesmaid, complete my wedding stationery. I then created my own album after the wedding.

Soon after I bought a card making starter kit from a high street store. It included stamps and I was quickly hooked, although at that point if you'd asked me who or what Stampin' Up! were, I wouldn't have had a clue! Friends who saw my creations placed orders with me and I quickly developed my own style. It is now what is known as CAS, but again, if you'd have said that to me then, I would have looked at you funny! LOL.

Around six years ago a friend helped me set up my first website, it was basic with very little functionality and no blog capacity, so most of my interaction was done via the Facebook page I'd set up. Soon after I discovered blogs and started following a few crafty ones. I loved the way it made interaction possible, so I persuaded my friend to add a blog to my site.

I truly can't remember when I first came across Stampin' Up! but it's truly as long ago as I care to remember and I can tell you who it was, France Martin. Through her posts "Frenchie" had me hooked, although because of circumstance, I admired the goodies from a distance.

Card making has kept me going through years of ill health and around 18 months ago I purchased my current website, www.creative-em.com and took total control over the site.

Earlier this year I found Vicky Hayes' blog and the more I read the more I fell in love with the products. Having remained totally independent in regards to my creativity, and with my health considerably improved, I decided to take the next step and join Stampin' Up!

I took a deep breath and called Vicky for the first time in mid June. We hit it off immediately and although I explained I wasn't at that point in a position to order my starter kit, Vicky said that whenever I was ready, she would help. We exchanged regular emails and then the day finally came.

On August 15, 2014 I joined a company who I can wholeheartedly say are the BEST. I'm still a newbie, and although we're "Independent Demonstrators", there's nothing lonely or frightening about it. I know that Vicky is always there for me and indeed so are our wider "Pinkie" group of Demos.

When I joined SU, I had a feeling that it was the right thing to do. But what I didn't know is just how amazing it would be. How supportive everyone is and how nothing is too much trouble, no question is "silly". I can take everything at my pace and I look forward to sharing my creativity and love for our products with clients and inspiring them as I grow my business.

I've not yet met any of the other Pinkies in person (I'm looking forward to that next year), but each and every one of them has a special place in my heart. Pinkies and indeed SU ROCK! I'm so grateful to have the support as I begin a new chapter in my life.

Hugs,

Thanksgiving Suite #3 EPB Creations

Hi everyone,

Thanks for stopping by and for all your wonderful comments. It's an honor to have you here and I truly appreciate each of you more than you know!

Today I'm sharing two projects that form part of my Thanksgiving Suite and both have been created using the Envelope Punch Board (EPB) from Stampin' Up!

The first, silverwear pockets, have been created just as you would create an envelope using the board, from Crumb Cake card. I've stamped one of the stamps from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set in the same color ink, then stamped the sentiment from Good Greetings in Cherry Cobbler ink onto the back of the pocket...

For the detail on the front, I cut the Feathers Framelits dies from Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla card and popped them up for added dimension...

The second project is one that I first saw on my friend Caroline's blog and in her post she shares measurements for 3 different sizes of crackers. I've created the medium size and they will be filled with a few sweet treats tomorrow.

I decorated them in the same way as the silverwear pockets, keeping the side leaves flat (above) and stamping the sentiment directly onto one of the feathers and popping those up on the top (below)

All the products I've used to create the projects are available 24/7 in my Online Shop. Click the images below to be taken straight to them.

Thanksgiving Suite #2 Tea light with Wondrous Wreath

Hi everyone,

Thanks for stopping by and for all your wonderful comments. It's an honor to have you here and I truly appreciate each of you more than you know!

Today's project is the second of my Thanksgiving Suite for the holiday on Thursday. You can see yesterday's here.

Regular readers will know that I LOVE the Wondrous Wreath stamp and die bundle from Stampin' Up and I have previously said how versatile it is because it works so well whatever colors are used. For my tea light holders I've cut it from Crumb Cake card and stamped in Crumb Cake and Cherry Cobbler ink, for an understated look...

I cut and stamped it twice, then carefully snipped into the center leaves of one so that the battery tea light would fit snuggly inside and I attached it to the bottom one with a few Stampin' Dimensionals...

The light can easily be turned on underneath. It will also come out easily when I'm ready to move it into my Christmas version, which I'll share with you when I've created it.

Thanksgiving Suite #1 ~ Banner with Tree Punch

Hi everyone,

Thanks for stopping by and for all your wonderful comments. It's an honor to have you here and I truly appreciate you more than you know.

I LOVE the Tree Punch and Festival of Trees stamp set from Stampin' Up!'s holiday catalog and today's project, part one of this year's Thanksgiving Suite, shows you another way to use the punch, as a banner...

I started by punching 20 trees from Cherry Cobbler card and then cut off the trunks. I then cut the letters from Crumb Cake card using the Little Letters Thinlits dies and also 3 of the smallest stars from the Stars Framelits to act as spaces. I attached them to the pennants with Tombow glue.

To complete the banner I poked holes in each of the pennants and used Whisper White Bakers Twine to string them together.

I'll share another pic of the banner later in the week, once it's hung up.
